The Virtual-Actor.com concept came about when one particular, web-savvy actress started building websites for her performer friends. She was running a webdesign business for corporate firms, which completely and totally bored her. Thus, to see if there was any interest, she sent out an email in 2005 for "100 websites for 100 Actors". The response was overwhelming.
The rest is pretty much history. The concept grew, creator Ashley kept building, and slowly Virtual-Actor.com organically came into being. And, oddly, Ashley developed a taste for seitan and tofu. The coincidence is still under investigation.
In 2009, Virtual-Actor was under the management of a team called Experspace, and is now back under the original thumb of it's creator.
The annual 100 Websites / 100 Actors / $100 promo is still offered once a year to celebrate the coming into being of V-A.
Virtual-Actor.com is absolutely dedicated to bringing high-quality design to actors at don't-give-up-the-coffee-for-a-year artist friendly prices. Now, go forth and perform - and bring the world some actor-wonderfulness!
